iPhones do have a feature that can be used to set up auto-replies for text messages, but it’s not a dedicated SMS auto-reply feature. This feature is part of the Focus mode in iOS 15 and newer
- Open Settings on your iPhone.
- Choose Focus.
- Tap the (+) icon from the top-right corner.
- Select the Driving mode.
- Hit Customize Focus when prompted.
- Now, select the Auto-Reply option.
- Choose who will receive your auto-replies: No One, Recents, Favorites, or All Contacts.
- Edit the Auto-Reply Message to say whatever you would like it to say
Please note that this feature is primarily intended for use while driving to help prevent distractions. However, you can use it at any time you wish to send automatic replies. Also, remember to check the Settings for Messages and make sure the toggle next to Focus under Allow Messages to Access is turned on (green). If it’s off, no Auto-Reply will go out, no matter what happens.
